Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan JSC is part of Shinhan Financial Group (SFG) — Korea's first privately established financial holding company, registered on 1 September 2001. The company formed initial share capital of W1,461,721 million.
Today the group serves approximately 14.8 million clients through more than 1,430 branches and offices, with a workforce of around 17,200 employees. SFG offers a full range of financial services: retail and corporate banking, asset management, brokerage and insurance.
The group grew through strategic combinations, including the merger with Chohung Bank in September 2003 and the acquisition of LG Card in March 2007. The company's shares were listed on the Korea Exchange on 10 September 2001, and American Depositary Shares were listed on the New York Stock Exchange on 16 September 2003.
