On 27th of March in Almaty, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced the launch of the second stage of the GEFF Kazakhstan II green economy financing program. The program is aimed at modernizing housing and business with the help of energy-efficient and resource-saving technologies. Under this program, the EBRD will provide $150 million to financial institutions for lending to individuals and small and medium-sized businesses. Financing will also be provided to suppliers and producers of green technologies.
The event dedicated to the launch of the program was attended by representatives of international organizations, government agencies, financial institutions, business and household representatives.
As part of the event, a panel discussion was held on the topic "Green Breakthrough: How the transition to a green economy is changing the financial sector of Kazakhstan." Participants discussed the challenges and opportunities presented to the financial sector through the GEFF program
The final part of the event was the ceremony of awarding partners, one of which was Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan in the nomination “The Best Financial Partner for Financing Ecological Transport”.
